Newcastle Basketball was extremely proud to receive the George Thompson Award at the 2019 Basketball NSW Awards presented at Qudos Bank Arena today. This award is for the best female development program in NSW. Newcastle teams won State titles in Championship Women, Youth League Women and Under-18 Girls, and the Championship Women were announced as the 2019 BNSW Team of the Year for their dominant performance in winning the Basketball NSW Waratah League championship. Congratulations to Newcastle’s Dhana Davidson, who received a service award as one of our wonderful volunteers. Congratulations also to Newcastle junior Isabel Palmer, who won the 2019 Lauren Jackson Award as NSW Country Basketball Junior Female Player of the Year. Isabel is currently at college playing for Texas Women’s Basketball Longhorns.
