Newcastle Falcons star Nicole Munger has etched her name into the history books, becoming the first player to win an NBL1 MVP award in three consecutive seasons, after being named the 2025 NBL1 East MVP.

Munger’s dominant season has once again affirmed her status as one of the league’s premier talents. She led the Falcons to an impressive 17–3 regular season record, averaging 21 points, 14.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. A versatile forward, Munger is a force at both ends of the floor, consistently setting the standard for a high-performing Newcastle side.

Speaking to NBL1 East’s Caleb Fogarty following the announcement, Munger expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and acknowledged the level of competition across the league this season.
“I’m really honoured because there’s so many great players in this league. It’s amazing to see how the league has grown and how deep the talent pool is.” Munger said.

Since arriving in Newcastle, Munger has played a pivotal role in the Falcons’ rise and continues to set the standard for professionalism, consistency, and impact on the court.

“I think the year that we’ve had as a team has been really special…It’s really a great award, but it also highlights what we’re building here in Newcastle and the culture that we’ve created and how we’ve put ourselves in a position to compete for another championship,” Munger added.

The Falcons head to Manly this weekend for their preliminary final match up with the Sea Eagles, as they look to move one step closer to repeating as conference champions.
